What do I do when …?
I must pick up my child before the close of school. While removing a child before the end of the school day is discouraged, we recognize that, under certain unusual circumstances, it may be necessary. The child should be sent to school with a note, signed by the child’s parent/guardian, on the morning of the dismissal. That note should contain the following information: when the child will be picked up, the name and relationship of the adult who will be picking up the child, and the reason for the dismissal.
My child will be absent. Please call the school before 8:30 am to report the absence if the child will be out for that day. When leaving a message, please state the child’s name, grade, teacher and reason for absence. A doctor’s note is necessary when requesting an excused absence.
My child forgot his/her lunch money. If your child's account does not have any money or is in the negative, your child will receive an alternate lunch choice. You can view their account anytime by by logging on to the Chartwell's website. Please keep accounts current to avoid a charge to your account. Any student with a negative balance in the amount of $10.00 or more will receive an alternate lunch until the balance has been paid in full.
Weather conditions suggest that school might be cancelled or dismissed early. An automated phone call will be sent to contact numbers identified on forms in the case of early release or school cancellation. Cancellation or early dismissal announcements will also be made on local radio and television stations.
